Affordable Housing Opportunities Initiative

Civic Results (as the Center for Regional and Neighborhood Action) designed and conducted this regional affordable housing initiative to identify tools and strategies to supply adequate affordable and workforce housing in the Denver region.  The purpose of the project was, in the broadest sense, to institute change in the way that local governments, financial institutions, philanthropic organizations, other non-profits and the private sector developers appreciate and approach the development of affordable housing.  We involved several hundred participants including members of the public, private and nonprofit developers, and government officials in planning affordable housing projects on four sites in the metro area.

The conceptual plans emerging from this process included over 1,100 new affordable housing units.  (This was not the work for a client but rather an initiative developed by Civic Results and funded by Denver area foundations, banks, Colorado Housing Authority, Fannie Mae and other organizations.)
